About Supersight

One-sentence description

Supersight builds privacy-first, environmentally responsible AI infrastructure that helps organisations make better use of buildings and public spaces—without compromising people’s privacy.

Short company description

Supersight is a Finnish technology company providing accurate occupancy, people-flow and space-utilisation intelligence for buildings and public environments. Its edge AI sensors process information locally without storing or transmitting images, providing organisations with actionable numerical insights while protecting people’s privacy.

Extended company description

Supersight is a Finnish technology company building privacy-first real-world AI infrastructure for the built environment. Its edge AI sensors help organisations understand how people enter, move through and use buildings and public spaces, providing accurate occupancy, visitor-flow and space-utilisation data.

The analysis takes place locally on the edge device. Images and video are not stored or transmitted; only numerical measurement data is delivered to Supersight’s cloud-based reporting platform. Customers can examine real-time and historical information through dashboards, automated reports, interactive floor plans and system integrations.

Supersight’s scalable Android-based architecture can repurpose mobile hardware as intelligent edge devices, supporting cost-efficient deployments and reducing electronic waste. The technology is used across universities, workplaces, retail and shopping centres, exhibition venues, public buildings, transport environments and other shared spaces.

Organisations use Supersight data to improve space planning, allocate services, manage visitor flows, reduce unnecessary costs and support more environmentally responsible use of the built environment.

What Supersight measures

Entry and exit flows

Measure how many people enter and leave a space to understand visitor volumes and changes over time.

Occupancy

Monitor real-time and historical occupancy across rooms, areas, buildings and multiple locations.

Dwell time

Understand how long people remain in a defined area, without identifying individuals.

Movement between areas

Analyse how people move between defined areas, floors or locations.

Peak times and congestion

Identify busy periods and recurring bottlenecks to support service and space planning.

Multi-location insights

Compare the use of several buildings or environments through one reporting platform.

How the technology protects privacy

Supersight sensors use on-device computer vision to analyse defined measurement areas. The visual information required for analysis is processed locally on the edge device.

Images and video are not stored or transmitted. Only numerical measurement data is delivered to the reporting platform for analysis, visualisation and reporting. Supersight does not use facial recognition or biometric identification.

This architecture enables organisations to obtain useful information about how spaces are used without monitoring or identifying the people using them.

Why the technology matters

Better use of buildings and public spaces

Reliable utilisation information helps organisations make planning decisions based on actual use rather than assumptions. The data can support more effective allocation of rooms, services, maintenance and investments.

Privacy by design

Processing information locally reduces the need to transfer sensitive visual material and allows useful environmental intelligence to be produced without identifying individuals.

Scalable and cost-efficient deployment

Supersight’s Android-based edge architecture allows devices to be deployed and managed across different types of buildings and public environments.

More environmentally responsible infrastructure

Repurposing suitable mobile hardware extends the useful life of existing electronics and can reduce the need for newly manufactured, single-purpose equipment.
